The lush green Maharishi Markandeshwar University spread over an area of 47 acres with exotic surroundings of green hills is ideally located on Chandigarh-Shimla National Highway at Sultanpur Road, Solan (H.P.) in the lap of the 'devbhoomi' of great Himalayan. Established as a Multi faculty University in the name of the Maharishi Markandeshwar Ji, a great disciple of Lord Shiva, the foundation stone of the University was laid by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Shri Prem Kumar Dhumal Ji on 22 February 2009. With his blessings, the University has been operational with effect from the academic session 2010-11 with the admissions to the School of Engineering & Technology, School of Computer Technology and School of Business Management.
